myURHR Workday Upgrade

Workday and UKG have regularly scheduled system upgrades designed to increase functionality and enhance the user experience.

myURHR Workday will have bi-annual upgrades, with the first happening Friday, March 14, through Saturday, March 15. The myURHR support team has prepared for this by conducting robust testing to ensure no impact on the configuration.

A majority of the updates are not noticeable to staff; however, there are payroll costing allocation enhancements that are beneficial to coordinator roles. Read below to find out what’s new.

Redesign of Payroll Costing Allocations (PCA)

The Assign Costing Allocation task has been redesigned with a new display allowing you to:

  • Add, edit, remove, and sort ranges of costing allocations by start or end date.
  • Copy costing allocations of a specified date range.

In addition, a tab for Existing Costing Allocations is now available. This tab lets you view existing costing allocations for the specified criteria. An empty grid is displayed if the worker or position doesn’t have any costing allocations.

This image displays the task page in myURHR Workday for assigning costing allocations. Allocation periods are now shown as separate selectable cards on the left for easier sorting.

Default Costing Allocation for Salary Over the Cap

A new Salary Over the Cap Default Costing Allocation Details grid has been added to Assign Costing Allocation (both the ad hoc task and the step within other processes), enabling you to specify default Salary Over the Cap costing allocations for all grants with salary cap on a given allocation.

The grid is empty by default. To specify default Salary Over the Cap costing allocations:

  1. Expand the Salary Over the Cap Default Costing Allocations area.
  2. Add rows to the grid.
  3. Specify how you’d like the over-the-cap portion of the worker’s salary to be costed.

The buttons in the Salary Over the Cap column show zeros to indicate that a specific override has not been supplied for any of the three grants shown. All will use the default.

To override the default Salary Over the Cap costing allocations:

  1. Click the button in the Salary Over the Cap column on the Costing Allocation Details grid.
  2. Specify the details of the costing allocation override.

Two of the grants will use the default salary over the cap off-set allocation, and one will use an override.

If you have an existing Salary Over the Cap costing allocation that you use for all of your allocations, you could remove it and add it to the new grid to simplify your costing allocations. You can then use the Salary Over the Cap button for override costing allocations only.
